Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
currently (at my configuration), there's two categories of the gnome-control-center:
administration (with 16 elements),
preferences (with 31 elements).
i think that more categories than just those two, and better ordering, will make the control center
more useable:
proposition:
--Administration:
services: bootUp manger, system Monitor, Services,
peripherals: Printing, Keyboard Indicator Plugins, Gnome partition
Editor, Device manager
Network: Network, Shared Folders, Software Sources, Update Manager,
Network, Network Tools
Maintenance: Remove orphaned Packages, Synaptic, system log, Time and
Date, Users and Groups, keyring manager,
--Preferences:
look and feel: Desktop Backgroud, Emerald Theme Manager, Desktop effects, Beryl Setting Manager, Menus and Toolbars, Mouse, Font, Menu Layout, Murrine Configurator, Theme, Windows, screensaver
personal information;
About Me, encryption preferences, PalmOS devices, assistive technology, Mail Notification
hardware resources:
HPLIP toolbox, Mouse, Removeale drives and media, power management, sound, keyboard,
screen resolution, SCIM input method setup
application behaviour:
preferred applications, sun java 5.0 policy tool
network:
network proxy, remote desktop
** Affects: control-center (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
