[Bug 76868] Gimp crashes repeatedly, no obvious cause

I am getting repeated crashes when using Gimp in Ubuntu Edgy. It happens
when closing Gimp... (already submitted as a bug report) but also after
I've "saved as" one to three jpegs. I had cropped the original png
files.
