Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/30758

Affects: gthumb (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Hello!

Gthumb 2.7.1 uses 100% ram and swap if I am trying to resize lots of
images. When there is no ram and swap left it crashes.

My machine:
Duron 750MHz
256MB ram
~500MB swap

What I did:
1) Launched gthumb

2) Opened directory with 77 photos (see ls-before in attachment)

3) Selected them all with ctrl + a

4) Tools > Scale Images >
width 100,
height 100,
keep aspect ratio [checked],
owerwrite mode: rename,
remove original [not checked].

5) In JPEG Options:
Quality: 86%,
Smoothing: 0,
Optimize [checked]
Progressive [not checked].

Expected results:
77 new and small images.

Actual results:
When memory and swap runs out, the program crashes. It has scaled 57 images (see ls-after in attachment)
