Thanks for your bug. According to
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=319996 by example that's not a
gnome-terminal bug, you have to set PS1 or PROMPT_COMMAND to have that
feature working
Thanks for your reply.  I'm not currently setting my PS1 to anything:

agottschalk at dogfish:~$ echo $PS1
${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\u@\h:\w\$

which i assume is the default.  When I tried setting PS1 to

"\033]0; $ \007"

as in the article you referenced, it just hung up my terminal.

How can I get the window title to revert to something useful
when I log out?
