[Bug 31489] preferences lost after upgrade to Dapper

It looks like we switched from xchat to xchat-gnome? I didn't realise
there were 2 different things.  I think I was running xchat with Breezy
and was automatically changed to xchat-gnome with Dapper. Which is fine
I guess, but the loss of settings is odd. So the stuff that is missing
in xchat-gnome are the settings that were stored in
~/.xchat2/usermenu.conf
