Not really, the problem is also that if I write an email on one machine
I get an entry in that machine's address book, but if I go to another
machine I have the email, but not the contact.

A more concrete use case:  I tried to email my brother from a computer I
don't use often.  I needed to encrypt it (had a config file in it) but
in order to do so I had to go search for an email from him to put the
cert in the cache.  It would be much nicer to be able to tell evolution
to go out and harvest certs and emails from all my folders.
