[Bug 29260] copy from ftp:// uses 100% CPU

The network is 100Mbps.  My CPU is a 1.7GHz Pentium 4.  Could the NcFTPd
be causing the poor performance?  I will try setting up a proftpd server
at some point.

In the mean time is there some other way I can help figure out what's
causing this?  I'm not very handy with a profiler (never actually used
one) but I can follow directions.
