Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/32545
Affects: gnome-cups-manager (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
When adding a new printer, gnome-cups-manager suggests a wrong
driver/PPD for my HP Deskjet 930C.
It suggests the cdj550 driver (from the foomatic-* package)
But this is not the best driver. The recommended driver is "hpijs" from
HP. It is printed in the dialog that "hpijs" is the recommended driver.
The PPD file is in the package hpijs and is located in:
/usr/share/ppd/hplip/HP-DeskJet_930C-hpijs.ppd
Another thing is when I add a printer gnome-cups-manager shows 2
printers:
HP Deskjet 930C (and recommends driver cdj550)
HP DESKJET_930C (and recommends driver pcl3)
There should be only one printer to choose from.
