[Bug 32607] gossip fails to authenticate

Description:
Each time Gossip attempts to authenticate with a server, it prints the
following message:

** (gossip:17617): CRITICAL **: lm_connection_authenticate: assertion
`resource != NULL' failed

The server in question is jabber.org.
