Yes, the error message changed after I installed libdvdcss.  Before it
was:

libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.
libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO.

After installing libdvdcss it became:

libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.5 for DVD access
libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO.
