Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33120

Affects: hal (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
The new HAL 0.5.7 packages seem to break the naming conventions of
removable media.

When mounting a USB 2 HDD or an iPod (4th or 5th generation),
hal-0.5.6-4 mounted the drive under /media/usbdisk and /media/ipod
accordingly.

Upgrading to 0.5.7-1ubuntu1 makes those devices appear as /media/sda1
and /media/sdb2 respectively in Nautilus or the CLI.

In the case of the iPod's, this causes gtkpod to report that no media
has been found on /media/ipod, followed by a segfault.

Reverting to 0.5.6-4ubuntu4 and rebooting fixes the problem.
