Ok, i found a solution, that makes me think if this is a bug or not...
Tired of the problem, i backed up all files on the 160GB harddrive and the ipod,
and reformated them (rebuilding the partition table on both), and that seems to
have cleaned up the problem.

So right now, i can only think that something broke the partiton table for both
devices on breezy (everything worked ok before), but don't know what.
