I'm on Breezy.

You're right. It is not just gedit. It is the
gnome printer library. I tried Anjuta; same result.

It might be a psnup bug. But I don't know enough
postscript to be sure. But I'm more inclined to 
suspect the gnome library because I found that I
cannot print two-up directly to my postscript 
printer. Furthermore, I've had no trouble at all
using psnup on dvips output.
