I forgot to say: this is an x86 machine.

I trind to downgrade librsvg2-2 to 2.13.4 (had to dpkg-buildpackage it
since it's no longer on the archive) but the problem remains.

I also tried to compile gtk 2.8.9 but it fails to build. If the old debs
are still hanging around somewhere I can get them and I'll try it out.
