[Bug 29179] takes a long time to get the password dialog

Description:
When I try to unlock the screen, it takes a long time before the dialog
has anything else drawn on it other than a window (its hung or
something). This might have something to do with LDAP, since I don't
have this issue with my personal laptop which doesn't use LDAP. I
remember seeing this last summer, when I tested g-s. XScreensaver has no
such problems.
