Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/29697
Affects: control-center (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
I'm not sure if 'nodeadkeys' is a variant or an option (a websearch
yields pages which claim both), but in any case, it is not available in
the Gnome-control-center keyboard properties.
There is a us intl layout with dead keys, and a us alt-intl, which one
would expect to be without deadkeys then. Alas, both have deadkeys.
Setting the right win-key as Compose has no effect either (with Compose,
I don't need deadkeys; they are veryveryvery annoying anyway for an ex-
programmer).
Using setxkbmap or editing xorg.conf manually has no effect either
(tried both the variant and option). It seems there is just no
'nodeadkeys' layout anymore.
