[Bug 29807] Inconsistent behavior of File chooser shortcuts (CTRL-L , /)

Description:
In the file chooser, when opening a file, you may press CTRL-L and type in a path in a dialog box.
This dialog also opens when pressing the keybord's "/" key.
When a complete path, including an optional filename is entered, the open dialog switches to the entered path, and, if a filename was specified and exists in the target directory, it is highlighted.

However, when using the numeric keypad's "/", a small window opens.
Usually, this window lets you enter a file name to look for in the
currently opened directory. A path can also be entered in this window,
but the end result is different. In such a case, the file open dialog
stays in the current directory, which is misleading for the end user.

Can the behaviour of this small window be changed to act identically as
the one used by CTRL-L ? Or, can the numeric keypad's "/" key be treated
as an alternate to CTRL-L or the keyboard's "/"

Note: I experience this annoyance of a Swiss French keyboard.
