[Bug 30187] gamin is constantly polling some directory when root is over nfs

Description:
My workstation is diskless, and boots with root over nfs.
The Breezy installation works as expected in this configuration, except that gamin (gam_server) is constantly polling some directory on the nfs.

I guess gamin fallback to polling when neither inotify nor dnotify is
available to monitor some files.

But it seems that instead of polling quietly (once every X seconds), it
does poll as fast as it can, making the system very slow.
