[Bug 52802] Black background in conversations after upgrade to 2.0beta3

Public bug reported:

After upgrading to the current gaim in Edgy (1:2.0.0+beta3-4ubuntu2), my
conversation window has a black background, which makes the text
unreadable (black on black).  Will attach a screenshot.
