[Bug 48027] Gnome: No logout possible with activated kompmgr

Dapper 6.06:

When I use Metacity with kompmgr or KWin under Gnome I cannot logout any
more.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start your Gnome session
2. Enable Translucency settings in kcontrol: > Desktop > Window behaviour
3. Start the KWin composite manager kompmgr (alternative: kwin --replace)
4. Log out of your Gnome session

Now the screen freezes and I'm not able to logout any more. Under SUSE
10.1 I can use Metacity with kompmgr and logout without problems. I will
attach some log files.
