[Bug 49940] gdm 2.14.7-0ubuntu1 upgrade forces password on autologin

Binary package hint: gdm

If I upgrade to gdm 2.14.7-0ubuntu1, automatic logon
now requires a password for the user whereas none
was required with the previous package, and if I
force Synaptic to install the next oldest version 2.14.6-0ubuntu2.1, this is no longer the case (as I understand the functionality of automatic login is such that no password should be required for this on first startup).
