[Bug 50783] Gnumeric "About" box does not appear

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnumeric

When I click the "About" option in the "Help" menu on gnumeric the
expected information box does not appear.

I am also having trouble with some font colours (red where black is
specified) and some simple formulas not working, but I've yet to pin the
problem down.

I'm running Ubuntu Dapper x86_64 on an AMD Athlon64 x2
