[Bug 50925] starting hal crashes my system

Public bug reported:

I've installed kubuntu 6.06 on a dell dimension 1100, using kernel 2.6.15-25-686.
When installing hal, it crashes my system: nor mouse or keyboard reponds.

This is not related to a smb share because I do not have one of them :
