[Bug 51266] Syncing Palm broken in Dapper

Syncing a Palm Tungsten E with jpilot which worked flawlessly in Breezy no longer works with Dapper. The link /dev/pilot is created and points to the correct device /dev/ttyUSB1 but no connection is established. 
In fact it worked once at the beginning but then stopped consistently to work.
