Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34522
Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
The network-monitor provides a small indication in the main panel ofthe
status of the network and whether it is transmitting or receiving, this
is done through the use of two 'LCD screens' that blink in indication RX
and TX:

With the ubuntu-artwork=7 these flash between black and intense orange.
This contrast is very large and combined with the increased area of the
indicators means that the display is overly distracting.
Ideally the sudden change should be toned down and the visible
difference between states decreased, for instance, alternating between a
50% orange and 100% intense orange instead of between black and strong
orange.
