Such rant about GNOME not working don't make people wants to reply and
try to debug your issue, if you want to be constructive and work with us
to fix that issue let we know

Some notes:
- gnome-panel is respawned by gnome-session, use gnome-session-remove to stop it
- you say that gconf is restarted too many time and then that it is running already, is it crashing or something?

What filesystem do you use? Since when do you have the issue?
