Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34510 Comment: the problem with deactivating is that it stays deactivated if your app crashes i prefer to simulate activity (which poke does) but indeed you can run gnome-screensaver-command --exit on start of your app and start gnome-screensaver on exit
