[Bug 10182] Can not logout of gnome when xcompmgr is running

Your comment indicates that an updated version of xcompmgr would fix
this bug, and it's dated near the end of 2004.  I installed xcompmgr
today and this bug persists - should this be revisited?  It's very
annoying to be unable to log out properly.  I'm using the xcompmgr from
the dapper repositories.
