I see your point about some people needing two applets of the same type.
Sooo...what if a drop down number box was used instead of a regular
check box.  Thus, an applet would have a zero as default, but the user
could pull down a box to select 1, 2, 3, etc. of the same applet.  Then,
the user hits apply after settings numbers for each applet or leaving
the default 0.  Finally, the applets are populated on the bar.
