Description:
The new human icon theme has text in several icons, such as dvd/cd and
network shares.

This is frowned upon in the gnome HIG.
(I can partially recall a planetgnome discussion about it, but can't remember the verdict)

The text gives no important information to the user and seriously clutters the feel of the icon.
All extra information should be given by the "subtitle".

If the icon is smaller then 48x48 the text becomes very hard to read.
