[Bug 33739] graphical corrupting using screen+irssi

everything important is working great and I haven't experienced any of
the display problems we've all been discussing.  I'm at least 95%
certain the screen+irssi problem is also fixed.


However, it seems there's a bit of wierd logic on the resizing of the gnome-terminal window.  

1. Open gnome-terminal
2. open a second tab
3. close the tab
4. goto step 2

if you repeat 2-4 several times, you'll find that your window is growing
by one line verticaly with each iteration.  Clearly this is not a big
deal, but I thought I'd let the interested parties know.
