do you mean root nodes, or children of the Indian layout?  if children
of Indian, then yes (the fix should be pretty simple).  if you really
mean root nodes, then that doesn't get my vote -- requires too much
shuffling around of the XKB layouts (all those variants need to become
first-class layouts), and upstream won't take it, so you'll be saddled
with custom compatibility hacks forever ...
