[Bug 35362] gnome-keyboard-applet lacks some external symbols necessary for plugins

Description:
When I am trying to use gswitchit-plugins with gnome-keyboard-applet, I
see this:

[1142616836,000,gswitchit_plugin_manager.c:_GSwitchItPluginManagerAddPluginsDir/]       Bad module: [/usr/lib/gswitchit/highlight.so], /usr/lib/gswitchit/highlight.so: undefined symbol: GSwitchItPluginContainerReinitUi
[1142616836,000,gswitchit_plugin_manager.c:_GSwitchItPluginManagerAddPluginsDir/]       Bad module: [/usr/lib/gswitchit/anim.so], /usr/lib/gswitchit/anim.so: undefined symbol: GSwitchItAppletConfigGetImagesFile

These symbols are "extern" symbols but it seems they are lost during the
build process. When I build the applet manually, these symbols presend
in the executable. Could the build process be please fixed?

PS As a side request - I am going to release gswitchit-plugins for gnome
2.14 very soon - could Ubuntu provide .deb once they are released?
