[Bug 35447] Totem regularly freezes when using the scroll wheel

Description:
Hi,
On dapper, start totem 1.4.0. Start playing a movie (AVI). Move the mouse wheel on the video to move forward quickly.  Keep quickly spinning the wheel. After a while, the movie stops and the UI freezes (stops being repainted). The program does not crash, just freezes.
