[Bug 35545] Doesn't display animated GIFs

Description:
I just started to play with the "byzanz" desktop recorded, which creates animated GIFs. I opened the file with eog to look at it, and was disappointed/surprised that it didn't "play" the animation. 
I could play it with Gthumb, but I think it's reasonable to expect eog to be able to "play" an animated GIF as well.
