Hm, I just eyeballed the code to find out why media_check_enabled is
true for your hard drive, but I could not find an obvious flaw.

Can you please (temporarily) remove all custom configurations, set up an
up to date dapper, do

  lshal > lshal.txt

and attach lshal.txt here?
