Thanks for your bug. There might be 2 issues described. Only the
applications declared as working with VFS will be listed when using a
non-local folder. What application is the default for the .wma by
example? The other issue is that on non-local places nautilus uses the
filename to determine what you try to open and doesn't do sniffing.
Could you detail what you try to open and which one those issues is the
one annoying you?
