Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36303

Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
There are numerous bugreports of screensavers kicking in when in the
middle of a game or typing a document, but this is a little different.

I'm running Dapper installed from Flight 4, updated daily (so very up to
date) on VMWare Player under Windows. *Every* time I run

sudo ntpdate ntp.ubuntu.com

in a terminal, once the command completes, the screen saver kicks in. It
happens every time, so it looks as is something is causing this from the
ntpdate call.

On Breezy (also under VMWare on the same hardware), no such problem
occurs.

I know VMWare is not a key platform, but there is some cause and effect
oddity here. Hard to see why the screensaver would be invoked directly
after an ntpdate execution.
