Yes I have libgtk2.0-0 installed.  The debug output says it's using the gdkpixbuf for video streamtype 3d. 

If I put a breakpoint on exit(), go up the stack to outside the X library, and disassemble the code before the PC, the last call before XSync is XvShmPutImage.
