[Bug 35032] poor colours on Language Selector window

The screenshot I linked to shows the selector I was originally talking about  when I filed the bug (accessed from the GDM login screen). The first commenter interpreted the big to be about a different window, which I then replied to in my first comment.

>From the GDM login, choose "select language".  A new window opens.  Note the colour of the selector menus before you click on them.  Note the colour after clicking and the selectable items have appeared (this is the state the screenshot above was taken in).  I find both the initial colour (a dark grey - nowhere else do we use this colour) and the colours of the menu itself (light tan on medium tan) to be not very good choices.
