Thanks for your bug report. This is actually not a  bug. Let me explain: 
 - normally the libglib2.0-data package only contains translations,
 - the translations are stripped from main packages, to be stuffed into language packs (as I'm using german, mine is /usr/share/locale-langpack/de/LC_MESSAGES/glib20.mo)
 - we're not getting rid of this package, as we're not going to divert from Debian on such a fundamental package for cosmetical reasons only.
