Shortly put, yes. I see no display problems with Ubuntulooks, when RenderAccel is disabled. Sorry for being too verbose.

The only issue with having RenderAccel disabled is the blinking with gksudo's darkening/lighting of the rest of the screen (there's no blinking when the logout panel darkens the screen, though).
