Public bug reported:
Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
Binary package hint: gnome-media
When i am using volume up and volume down buttons of my laptop - the
volume increase and decrease when clicking any of these buttons seems to
work properly. But in the pop up bar (the horizontal one) volume down
decreases the bar twice as much (while decreasing the volume by the same
amount).
Which leads to various funny things happening like having the bar gone
but still being able to decrease volume, or having the full bar up and
still being able to increase volume.
It is especialy easy to see when clicking laptop "decrease volume"
button while dragging the master volume in the mixer up. You get a full
bar while nothing is being heard. In a similar manner one can get the
sound muted with the "decrease volume" button while it is still quite
loud.
