Public bug reported:
Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
When removing files from within a different application (e.g. Terminal,
but also from a second Nautilus window) the status bar does not get
updated. Using default settings, follow these steps to reproduce:
- Open "Places" -> "Home Folder"
- Start "Applications" -> "Accessoires" -> "Terminal"
- Move the Terminal so that the status bar of the Nautilus Home Folder window is visible
- In the Terminal type: "touch bla"
- Observe that the Nautilus status bar gets updated to the new file count
- In the Terminal type: "rm bla"
- Observe that the Nautilus remains unchanged, although the "bla" file is removed from the view
I hope this test plan is clear. This bug happens using Nautilus
2.14.1-0ubuntu5.
As stated in the beginning, this bug also occurs when having two
Nautilus windows on the same folder and removing an entry. In the active
window, the status bar gets updated, in the other it remains unchanged.
