Not sure -- I don't know if there is supposed to be an icon in the notification area.  Maybe this was just a feature that showed-up during development??  If I had access to a Novell/SuSE box I'd see what the behavior was there (since they sponsor the development), but I don't....

I suppose we could just close this bug until any such time that there was an icon in the notification area again (if it didn't work properly :).
