do you use Edubuntu? The gdm-cdd.conf is a way for derivatives to ship
an alternative default configuration. Note that you not supposed to
modify gdm.conf with dapper and it'll be moved to /usr/share when we
figure a nice way to do upgrades for that. The user configuration file
at the moment is /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom and that's what gdmsetup
modifies too. I'm rejecting the bug since that looks like an user
mistake, feel free to reopen if you disagree
