Oops. I had recently reenabled the nautilus option to show volumes, and
didn't notice this behavior. I have a FAT32 partition and a NTFS
partition and saw that both were being displayed and assumed that all
HDs were (I rarely ever use my FAT32 partition and assumed it was /).

Sorry for the noise. ;P
