Public bug reported:

Dapper 6.06. libpango is latest
locale ru_RU.UTF8

gnome-terminal renders russian characters with strange glitches:
There're accidentional inverted <?> (question sign) characters, and monospace fonts looks like they are non monospace (I check with 'monospace', 'Lucida Console', 'Courier New')

but if I do ssh on remote system with KOI8 locale and set this charset
in gnome-terminal, all characters rendered properly.

Once i have <?> char in FireFox, but i forget in which page, so I can't
reproduce it.

** Affects: pango1.0 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed
