Yes, I upgrade via Synaptic, every day, several times a day, and always
before reporting a bug in any case.

I don't have this file in my system.

No way I created anything by myself, with regard to sound in Linux, the
only thing I know is how to operate the volume control applet in the
gnome panel, that's about it ! ;o)
