[Bug 42531] Nautilus Edubuntu won;t display files saved on desktop

Public bug reported:

I have seen this bug on two different machines now.  The first was on a
VMWare machine and was confirmed by Juliux, Now the bug has appreared on
the Toshiba Pro L10 laptop

When saving a file to the desktop, it is not displayed on the desktop or
in any nautilus window.  However the file can be seen by performing an
ls command in a terminal window.  Upon restarting Nautilus, the icons
are displayed and the feature is restored.
